Roles
Covid-19 Sensitization
The pandemic changed our lives drastically and highlighted the importance of implementing safety measures in our daily activities. We have been instrumental in disseminating vital information via our Whatsapp platform “SAMBAU ALERTS” which has included:
- Hospital hotline contact numbers
- Implementation of official measures on mitigating the spread of the pandemic
- Protocols on how to handle your home, school, workplace, shopping environment…..etc
- The symptoms and preventative measures of Covid-19
- How to wear a mask and sanitise effectively
Vaccination Centres
Through our social media platform we shared information on venues of vaccination centres and links to book appointments. We believe that this important information assisted members in making informed decisions on the location of their closest vaccination centre.
General Updates
With the numerous road works taking place in Nairobi, we see new routes being created without notice, SAMBAU endeavours to stay up to date with the changes and passes on information with the aim of easing movement. Of importance are details provided by Kenya Urban Roads Authority and Kenya National Highways Authority. We do our best to keep members informed on General traffic disruptions and delays. Water shortages along with electricity interruptions are also broadcast through our media.
Support at Last Rites
SAMBAU believe strongly in assisting our community in times of grief and death. We are, and have been on hand to provide assistance at mortuaries, en route as well as places of worship.
Ready to assist
As a team we have continued to assist in numerous emergencies and are always ready to help whenever and wherever possible. We are fully equipped to come to your aid in times of various emergencies. Your safety is undoubtedly our priority.
Inter Community
Sambau is affiliated to a larger community based safety and security organisation. We are part of the Inter Community(IC) Team and hold key positions in the Committee. We assist the IC and benefit from the teams’ invaluable experience and expertise, whenever there is need.
